What PrivateHomeSale doesn't cover

Standard transfer costs apply to any property sale in South Africa — these are paid to the conveyancer and the South African Revenue Service, not to us. They include:

  • Conveyancer's transfer fees
  • Transfer duty (if applicable)
  • Bond cancellation costs (seller's bond)
  • Compliance certificates (electrical, beetle, etc.)
  • Rates clearance from the municipality
  • Deeds Office registration fees

What you'd typically pay an estate agent

Estate-agent commission in South Africa is usually 5%–7.5% of the sale price plus 15% VAT.
