What PrivateHomeSale doesn't cover
Standard transfer costs apply to any property sale in South Africa — these are paid to the conveyancer and the South African Revenue Service, not to us. They include:
- Conveyancer's transfer fees
- Transfer duty (if applicable)
- Bond cancellation costs (seller's bond)
- Compliance certificates (electrical, beetle, etc.)
- Rates clearance from the municipality
- Deeds Office registration fees
What you'd typically pay an estate agent
Estate-agent commission in South Africa is usually 5%–7.5% of the sale price plus 15% VAT.
